Meaning

Non-violence, evenness of mind, contentment, self-discipline, generosity, fame and disgrace: these many different states of living beings arise from me alone.

Practise it today

When praise or criticism comes your way today, notice that both are passing states, and respond to each in the same steady, polite way.

Reflect tonight

Did you meet praise and criticism with the same steadiness today? Which one was harder?
