Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 16, Verse 17

Krishna said

आत्मसम्भाविताः स्तब्धा धनमानमदान्विताः।यजन्ते नामयज्ञैस्ते दम्भेनाविधिपूर्वकम् ॥16.17॥

ātmasambhāvitāḥ stabdhā dhanamānamadānvitāḥyajante nāmayajñaiste dambhenāvidhipūrvakam

Meaning

Full of self-importance and stubbornness, intoxicated by wealth and status, they perform worship only in name, for show, without following its proper way.
