Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 17, Verse 1

Arjuna said

ये शास्त्रविधिमुत्सृज्य यजन्ते श्रद्धयाऽन्विताः।तेषां निष्ठा तु का कृष्ण सत्त्वमाहो रजस्तमः ॥17.1॥

ye śāstravidhimutsṛjya yajante śraddhayā'nvitāḥteṣāṃ niṣṭhā tu kā kṛṣṇa sattvamāho rajastamaḥ

Meaning

Arjuna asks Krishna: what about people who set aside the scriptural rules but still worship with sincere faith? Is their standing one of sattva (clarity), rajas (restless passion) or tamas (dullness)?

अर्जुन पूछते हैं: हे कृष्ण, जो लोग शास्त्र की विधि को छोड़कर भी श्रद्धा के साथ पूजा करते हैं, उनकी स्थिति कैसी है? वह सात्त्विक है, राजसी है या तामसी?
