Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 18, Verse 30

Krishna said

प्रवृत्तिं च निवृत्तिं च कार्याकार्ये भयाभये।बन्धं मोक्षं च या वेत्ति बुद्धिः सा पार्थ सात्त्विकी ॥18.30॥

pravṛttiṃ ca nivṛttiṃ ca kāryākārye bhayābhayebandhaṃ mokṣaṃ ca yā vetti buddhiḥ sā pārtha sāttvikī

Meaning

The understanding that knows when to act and when to hold back, what should and should not be done, what to fear and what not to fear, and what binds and what frees, is sattvic.

जो बुद्धि जानती है कि कब काम में लगना है और कब रुकना है, क्या करना चाहिए और क्या नहीं, किससे डरना है और किससे नहीं, क्या बाँधता है और क्या मुक्त करता है, वह सात्त्विक है।
