सत्त्वात्सञ्जायते ज्ञानं रजसो लोभ एव च।प्रमादमोहौ तमसो भवतोऽज्ञानमेव च ॥14.17॥sattvātsañjāyate jñānaṃ rajaso lobha eva capramādamohau tamaso bhavato'jñānameva ca
Meaning
From sattva comes understanding, from rajas comes greed, and from tamas come carelessness, confusion and ignorance.
