Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 17, Verse 4

Krishna said

यजन्ते सात्त्विका देवान्यक्षरक्षांसि राजसाः।प्रेतान्भूतगणांश्चान्ये यजन्ते तामसा जनाः ॥17.4॥

yajante sāttvikā devānyakṣarakṣāṃsi rājasāḥpretānbhūtagaṇāṃścānye yajante tāmasā janāḥ

Meaning

Sattvic people worship the gods; rajasic people worship yakshas and rakshasas (beings of wealth and power); tamasic people worship ghosts and spirits of the dead.

हिंदी में अर्थ

सात्त्विक लोग देवताओं की पूजा करते हैं, राजसी लोग यक्षों और राक्षसों (धन और शक्ति वाले प्राणियों) की, और तामसी लोग भूत-प्रेतों की पूजा करते हैं।
