Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 18, Verse 23

Krishna said

नियतं सङ्गरहितमरागद्वेषतः कृतम्।अफलप्रेप्सुना कर्म यत्तत्सात्त्विकमुच्यते ॥18.23॥

niyataṃ saṅgarahitamarāgadveṣataḥ kṛtamaphalaprepsunā karma yattatsāttvikamucyate

Meaning

Action that is proper and necessary, done without attachment, without liking or disliking, by one who does not seek its reward, is called sattvic.

जो कर्म उचित और ज़रूरी हो, आसक्ति के बिना, राग-द्वेष के बिना, और फल की इच्छा न रखने वाले द्वारा किया जाए, वह सात्त्विक कहलाता है।
