Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 4, Verse 13

Krishna said

चातुर्वर्ण्यं मया सृष्टं गुणकर्मविभागशः।तस्य कर्तारमपि मां विद्ध्यकर्तारमव्ययम् ॥4.13॥

cāturvarṇyaṃ mayā sṛṣṭaṃ guṇakarmavibhāgaśaḥtasya kartāramapi māṃ viddhyakartāramavyayam

Meaning

Krishna says the fourfold order of society was created by him according to people's qualities (gunas) and their work. Though he is its maker, know him as the non-doer, beyond change.

श्रीकृष्ण कहते हैं कि गुणों और कर्मों के आधार पर चार वर्णों की व्यवस्था मैंने बनाई। मैं इसका रचयिता हूँ, फिर भी मुझे अकर्ता और अविनाशी ही जानो।
