Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 8, Verse 1

Arjuna said

किं तद्ब्रह्म किमध्यात्मं किं कर्म पुरुषोत्तम।अधिभूतं च किं प्रोक्तमधिदैवं किमुच्यते ॥8.1॥

kiṃ tadbrahma kimadhyātmaṃ kiṃ karma puruṣottamaadhibhūtaṃ ca kiṃ proktamadhidaivaṃ kimucyate

Meaning

Arjuna asks Krishna, the highest of persons: What is Brahman (the ultimate reality)? What is adhyatma (the inner self)? What is karma (action)? And what are adhibhuta (the realm of physical beings) and adhidaiva (the realm of the divine powers) said to be?

अर्जुन श्रीकृष्ण से पूछते हैं: हे पुरुषोत्तम, वह ब्रह्म (परम सत्य) क्या है? अध्यात्म (भीतर का आत्म-स्वरूप) क्या है? कर्म क्या है? और अधिभूत (भौतिक जगत) तथा अधिदैव (दैवी शक्तियों का क्षेत्र) किसे कहते हैं?
