Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 18, Verse 44

Krishna said

कृषिगौरक्ष्यवाणिज्यं वैश्यकर्म स्वभावजम्।परिचर्यात्मकं कर्म शूद्रस्यापि स्वभावजम् ॥18.44॥

kṛṣigaurakṣyavāṇijyaṃ vaiśyakarma svabhāvajamparicaryātmakaṃ karma śūdrasyāpi svabhāvajam

Meaning

Farming, protecting cattle and trade are the duties born of a Vaishya's nature; work in the form of service is the duty born of a Shudra's nature.
